Higher Education Awards and Graduation Ceremony

_MG_5662

Congratulations to all the graduates of the Class of 2013 who attended the Higher Education Awards and Graduation Ceremony on Saturday. A wonderful celebration of the hard work and commitment put in by each student on the photography undergraduate programme.

We also congratulate current photography student Lewis Inman (far left) and photography graduate Daniele Pintore (far right) who were awarded 1st Prize and Highly Commendable respectively in the Symons-Hatton Award 2013. Pictured are the award winners with the trustees of the Symons-Hatton Award. This award is given to students who have shown commitment and excellent work in their field and this is the third year consecutively that photography have been award 1st and Highly Commendable in the four categories. We thank the Stuart and Penny (centre) from the Symons-Hatton Award for attending the ceremony and presenting the prizes to the students. This annual award was created to support lens-based students in their careers and was set up in memory of the late Brian Hatton and Lucinda Symons.

Daniele Pintore was also awarded the Barking & Dagenham College/Le Studio Rouchon Scholarship 2013. The photography department gained affiliation with the Paris studio in the summer and set up an annual 2 month internship at the studio for one BA (Hons) Photography student. The scholarship was set up by Barking & Dagenham College to fund Daniele’s living expenses during his stay in Paris. Congratulations Daniele, who was awarded from a shortlist of three students on the programme.
